One day I opened the book of nursery rhymes prescribed in English medium schools. There were poems such as Black sheep, and Pushy cat. I thought that the Indian children must be taught something sensible, something that has a message. Moreover a cat going to London to look at the queen does not suit the cultural background of India. This made me think of composing some rhymes that have a bearing on our culture and social life, something that even a grown up man can utter with dignity. Here there are rhymes for children and wisdom for all.
This is a book of rhymes specially for school kids.However even the grown up people can be greatly benefited by it. This book contains very soul of India as much as the songs are based on the Vedas, Upanishads, Subhashitas and Medieval devotional songs. YouTube |
