This book (in all versions, Portuguese, English and French) seeks to reveal the preliminary findings and conclusions that have been reached in this study, that led to PhD thesis entitled Leadership and well-being: the case of the five-star hospitality in the Algarve (discussed 9th February 2015, at the Faculty of Economics, University of Algarve, Portugal, the author was approved with the classification of Very Good ), for results and finals conclusions presented. The submitted thesis ended to distance significantly of this book as in the literature review, the methodology, results and conclusions. Both complement each other: this book associated with the preliminary work leading to the robustness of the final writing of the thesis and the thesis with the mature scientific thought about scientific investigation distance covered. Thus, the purpose is to arouse the reader to the complexity of the investigation process, whereby many paths appear to achieve results, but no one, objectively, could be considered better than another, since all are scientifically proven. The study that led to the PhD thesis was long and suffered several modifications to thesis final writing. This book seek to explain that leadership promotes well-being, showing what differentiates leaders that promote well-being from those who do not promote well-being, and to explain well-being in five-star hotels through the actions of their leaders in order to understand and characterize the well-being of this segment of tourism accommodation. The qualitative methodology used here (content analysis) is different of the qualitative methodology used in PhD thesis (framework analysis). So, the results were not exactly the same, they have necessarily similarities because both methodology have used the same data questionnaires to employees and interviews with leaders that promote well-being and who do not promote well-being.
