In elementary school, I wrote short verses, but these were lost in the many moves our family made during The Great Depression. I have kept a scrapbook of high school (graduated June 1945, Cuyahoga Falls High School Distinguished Alumna) favorite poems with biographies of my favorite poets. My all-time favorite poem is TREES by Joyce Kilmer. GATHERING GRACES contains many winning poems, both free verse and rhyme. Since poetry lives on after a poet's death, I hope to touch other people's lives and to help them cope with the adversities of life. |
