These are the reflections on what happened to philosophic, religious and allied thoughts since as long back as Vedic period. This is an attempt to chronicle the human thought process, development of philosophical ideas and organisation of religions and their main tenets in their historical perspective. However, these reflections are from a vast, wide reading of the subject, debate and discussion with learned persona and peers. Rapidly changing social mores of the day compel us to have a proper understanding of the basic spirit of different religions and look for and accept a universal, socially and psychologically satisfying form of religion, so that it may end communal strife and may create an environment of harmony and cooperation. The writer has not given importance to the orthodox rituals of the religions in practice. Instead, has captured and analysed their content, spirit and emotional aspects. |
