Dissension, as a volume of poetry starts with a heartfelt plea to the Almighty, and ends with a treatise to the universality of religion and a belief in a higher power. However, in between, the poet manages to touch on topics, while semi-autographical in nature, have a bearing on the way we could see the world. The people in her life, the nature around her and feminism within show up in various allusions throughout the volume. The poems explore a life that has gone through many different phases, and ideas a bit different, a bit dissimilar to the norm. |
