Haiku is a poem of meditation of words. To say something important in just seventeen letters and which must be poetry is not an easy task. From this point of view that 'Ramkatha' which has been composed in many languages of the world and in so many verses, is an even more arduous task. Radhey Shiam ji resolved compose 'Haiku Ramayana' in 'Haiku' verses and achieved it with great success. Like Goswami Tulsidas, he choose Awadhi language and Haiku poetry as verses for his 'Haiku Ramayana'. After the publication of 'Haiku Ramayana', Radhey Shiam ji's another important work - 'Vaidehi' (Haiku Uttar Ramayana) has been prepared by his literature-loving son Rama Kant. The publication of this book is not only an important work in the field of haiku and literature, but also the determination of a son to publish his father's work is exemplary and commendable. -Dr. Jagdish Vyom-
After going through a long analysis and contemplation, the story of the book (Vaidehi- Haiku Uttar Ramayan) finally reaches its climax at the tragic end of the earth-bursting at the call of Sita and her being engulfed in it. But apart from the above known story, when you immerse yourself in the pages of the book, it starts soaking you again and again and soaks you so much that you become drenched in feelings of sadness and compassion. In such a situation, it is natural that Sita's anguish becomes the reader's anguish, Sita's determination becomes the reader's determination. In the book, the Haiku writer has used ‘air’ as the medium of communication between Sita living in Valmiki Ashram and Ram living in Ayodhya. This is a different kind of metaphor. Because of this, not only has the pain, sadness and outcry of both sides been depicted in a meaningful manner in the book, the work has also got a new dimension. -Kamlesh Bhatt Kamal-
Shri Radhey Shiam's presentation of a detailed and esoteric epic like Ramayana in Haiku style is a unique example of his literary talent and imagination. Containing the saga of Ramayana, which is famous for its vastness and diversity, within the limit of 17 characters is not only a creative endeavour but also a deep literary practice. 'Vaidehi' Haiku Uttar Ramayan is not just a literary composition, it is a deep philosophical journey. He has given a new vision and depth to this epic by adapting Uttar Ramayana in Haiku style. This style not only makes the reader experience the story but also gives him an opportunity to communicate with the story. This poetry is inspiring not only for literature but also for society and culture. -Dr. Prabha Sharma- |
