I found this book to be breathe taking! 50 years in the future there are humans and an alien hybrid species, created by breeding humans and aliens. The alien hybrids are shape shifters, and they are hunted by an organization that are dead set on destroying them.
April is a normal college student. She was raised by adoptive parents and never knew her real family. Until one day everything she has ever known about herself changes! She is stronger and faster than she has ever been and the strangest of all the symptoms is that she is starting to crave meat. But what does all this mean?
One day April loses consciousness and wakes in a place she has never seen before, looking into a face that is just like her own... Her twin sister's! Her sister explains what is happening to April. She explains to April that their mother was a human, while there father was an alien. April is a Hybrid and is going through the change from human to shape shifter. April is not the human she always thought that she is an Alien Hybrid that can shape shift. April is reunited with her old hybrid family. But the clan doesn't trust humans at all... the problem is Robert, the person April is in love with, is a human...
April soon finds her world upside down, she is being hunted by the Rouge Militia who will stop at nothing until her and her new found family are destroyed. April now must fight for her survival along the side of the rest of her clan. I wasn't sure if I was going to enjoy the Hunted of 2060, its unlike most of the books that I have been interested in reading lately. But I had no problem at all being sucked into April's world. There was no boring "foreplay" so to speak. I felt from the minute I began reading, it was one delicious find after another. I couldn't stop turning the pages. While reading I was drawn to the love Triangle that April is in with her old loving boyfriend Robert and Arkin a shifter like herself. The whole book I couldn't help but route for Arkin, his sexy bad boy image had me! I couldn't help myself. April is an amazingly written character, I had no problem believing that she was in her late teens. All the characters where true to their form and ages, leaving no question in my mind about their motives. I found even though the subject matter isn't very believable to me, Ami had me believing that something like this could really happen to our world in the future. The Hunted of 2060 is expertly written, with believable characters that you can't help but fall in love with. It seduced me and left me wanting more!
