In several stories, we notice the use of satire, but it is a gentle criticism of contemporary life and manners, devoid of any contempt or malice against any one in particular. It is especially significant that the author penetrates to the very heart of the characters, and paint reality in all its contrasts.

Crystal Arbogast was born Crystal Diane Eldridge in Wise County, Virginia. Although she lives in the Midwest, her heart remains back home . Most of her stories reflect on her Appalachian roots. This is her first collection.
