Marilyn Hochheiser
Marilyn Hochheiser was born on September 3, 1935, in Los Angeles, CA, USA. She now resides in Simi Valley, CA, USA. When she was 13, she was the first person in America to have open chest surgery to save her life from the damage she received at the hands of her alcoholic father. Because of the long recovery period at that time, Marilyn began to write poetry and stories. She is now 84 and is thankful for every breath she takes. She still spends time out to write each week for the adventure of putting word to paper. Marilyn has been widely published in England, Europe, the middle east, and the United States. She is well known in her community for working with the poor, ringing the bell during the holiday season for the Salvation Army, and being an ordained minister. She was a founding member of National League of American Pen Women Simi Valley Branch and also created the Simi Valley Poetry Series which brought accomplished and novice poets around the Southern California area together to rejoice in hearing and reading each other’s work and to further their careers. |
