Dr. Devendra Sharma

Dr. Devendra Sharma was born on the 25th March 1933 at a small town Tanda in the district Faizabad, Uttar Pradesh, India. After completing his primary school education from different schools of Uttar Pradesh, he passed his Matriculation examination from the D.A.V college Lucknow. He joined the Government Agriculture College at Kanpur and passed his BSc (Ag) and MSc (Ag) from there. Subsequently, for a couple of years he worked as a Block Development Officer at Barhpur in Farrukhabad District of UP. In August 1959 he proceeded to Canada and joined a PhD programme at the University of Sasktchewan in the field of Plant breeding and Genetics. In 1962 he joined as post doctorate research fellow at the South Dakota State University. In 1964 returned to India and worked in several Indian and International institutes including the German Agency for Technical Programmes (GTZ) in Ghana, West Africa and USAID-Win rock Programme in Indonesia. He has deep interest in Hindi literature and Indian philosophy. He passed Sahitya Visharad examination of the Hindi Sahitya Sammelan. Philosophy and Theology An intellectual odyssey is his first book in English which is based on his study of different Western and Indian philosophies and cultures---personal experiences and analysis from a scientific viewpoint. |
