Best
Wishes for a very Happy New Year! Taj Mahal
Review, December 2007 out now, features Poetry,
Artwork by international artists, Short Story,
Reflections, Book Review etc; here is the longing
to promote original creative writing worldwide.
The continuous publication is a testimony to the
kind support and dedication of its readers. My
heart’s desire is that Taj should concentrate on
publishing original authors and artists. I have
kept this in mind while selecting an increasingly
large number of poems and short stories. How to
save Poetry? Cyberwit is doing something in this
direction. Why Poetry? He that rejecteth Poetry
and Art will not have a good conscience. They
alone clean and save our soul. Poetry is divine.
We are cleaned by Poetry. Poetry alone can expose
‘hypocrisies of official society’, and the
totalitarianism of the present machine society.
Hope you will enjoy this massive collection of
poems, short stories and artwork reaching a
worldwide audience. Cyberwit’s purpose is to
assist authors in the publication of creative
writing without them having to suffer the ordeal
of going through an agent.
This
heart is weary and sick due to another terrorist
attack in
Hyderabad
. The bombs packed with metal pellets exploded at
a food centre and an amusement park on Saturday
night in
Hyderabad
,
India
on August 26, 2007. Thirty-eight persons including
six women and two children were killed. Where is
the “fugitive and gracious light, shy to
illumine”? Earth hath need of “some
Columbus
to guide us over a trackless ocean to a new
continent”, so that our song of joy may triumph
over the cry of agony. I offer my deepest
condolence on the sad passing away of Norman
Kingsley Mailer (1923 – 2007) on November 10. He was an American novelist, journalist,
playwright, screenwriter, and film director. He
has been rightly called "Innovator of the
nonfiction novel, a towering figure in American
literature for nearly 60 years."
Heartly
congratulations to Doris Lessing (b. 1919),
British novelist who was born in
Kermanshah
,
Iran
, winner of the 2007 Nobel Prize for literature!
One of her greatest works, The
Golden Notebook (1962), revealing the
struggles of a woman writer, is considered a
classic of feminist fiction.
I’m
obliged to the kind support of all these creative
artists. Their help and kindness greatly inspired
me in this work of editing and selecting. I look
forward to receiving your cooperation in the
future issues of Taj and thank you again.
