It is very sad that in the contemporary world most of the people are indifferent toward the beauty of creative arts. Poetry is the “ record of the best and the happy moments of the happiest and the best minds”. Carl Sandburg, one of the greatest American poets, aptly says: “Poetry is the journal of the sea animal living on land, wanting to fly in the air. Poetry is a search for syllables to shoot at the barriers of the unknown and the unknowable.  Poetry is a phantom script telling how rainbows are made and why they go away.”

  

Harvests of New Millennium will continue to have enormous impact because it includes some of the best art, poems and haiku by contemporary artists; and partly because of the range of its contents. One of the world's most significant journals devoted to Art, Harvests of New Millennium promotes and focuses on the best creative writing and art. No doubt, it is a source of powerful, new voices. I hope the emerging authors and visual artists published in this issue will have a powerful impact on the contemporary world of creative artists both nationally and internationally.

  

Welcome! A very Happy New Year! Welcome to the Harvests of New Millennium 2010! I hope you will enjoy these poems, haiku, book reviews, photography and visual art by both emerging and famous international poets and artists. It is a multicultural journal of literary and visual art. An increasingly large number of poets and artists submitted work for this issue. I offer my sincere thanks for your interest in Harvests of New Millennium. Our mission is to promote and focus on the best creative writing and artwork. This issue includes Art, poems, haiku, Book Review and several other interesting things. Harvests of New Millennium is doing its best to promote understanding and enjoyment of literature and artwork. The best thing about artwork is that there are no language barriers. “Art is an international language, understood by all (Igor Babailov).”

  

Happy New Year! Welcome to this issue of Harvests of New Millennium with its inclusion of best contemporary artwork and poetry has brought to many the first real enjoyment of creative work. Since the inception of this annual journal, I receive a large number of submissions in the genres of poetry and art. Selections are made after a careful scrutiny, and I try my best to publish only high quality poems and visual art The main objective of Harvests of New Millennium is to promote poetry and artwork across the globe. The creative artists included in this edition deserve to be felt and experienced. The intensity of their imagination is beyond question. The fact is that the importance of imagination can never be belittled by any artist. K. A. Fadin remarks that the ratio of imagination and fact in his own work is 98 to 2.

  

The birth of Harvests of New Millennium was inspired by a very wise suggestion of AZsacra ZARATHUSTRA that Cyberwit should launch a new journal. Instead of three or four issues a year it was decided to publish it annually. The Journal will be a combination of Art and Literature by creative minds from around the world featuring known and emerging artists. While selecting poems and artwork I concentrated on the fact that an individual artist is influenced by the whole heritage of world literature and art. "A genre lives in the present, but is constantly aware of its past and origin."

  

The mission of Cyberwit is to encourage and promote the visual arts and poetry. I hope our planet ‘where ignorant armies clash by night’ will become a safer and better place to breathe in through the medium of photos, paintings, drawings, and poetry. The great significance of painting was very well realised by Lewis Carroll in his Alice’s Adventures in Wondrland, Ezra Pound in his Chinese Ideograms, and Augusto de Campos who pioneered Concrete Poetry.
